English
We believe that strong literacy skills open the door to lifelong learning and success.
The English curriculum encompasses the key areas of reading, writing, spelling, grammar, speaking, and listening. Students engage in rich, meaningful learning experiences that develop their confidence and ability to use English in a wide range of situations.
Children read, listen to, view, and discuss a variety of texts every day, building the skills to create their own oral, written, and digital works. They are encouraged to think critically and creatively, to share ideas and opinions, and to collaborate with others as effective communicators.
We place a strong emphasis on the development of early literacy skills, recognising that these form the foundation for success across all areas of learning. Our school provides a range of early intervention and literacy support programs, guided by our Key Literacy Teacher and Reading Coordinator, who oversee and enhance our whole-school literacy approach.
Our goal is clear — that every child leaves the Early Years able to read independently.
Beyond skill development, our literacy programs aim to nurture a lifelong love of reading and writing, inspiring every student to find joy and confidence in the power of words.
