Italian
Students have the opportunity to learn Italian from Reception to Year 6 as part of our commitment to fostering global awareness and cultural understanding.
Learning another language helps children deepen their understanding of themselves and their own language, broaden their communication skills, and strengthen both literacy and numeracy.
Students learn to communicate in Italian through everyday interactions - such as greetings, asking and answering questions, following instructions, singing songs, and playing games. As their skills grow, they begin to read and write sentences in Italian and explore the similarities and differences between Italian and Australian cultures.
To enrich their learning, students also engage in interactive and creative experiences including computer-based activities, art, music, dance, cultural incursions, and food experiences - bringing the beauty of the Italian language and culture to life.
