Mathematics
Students participate in meaningful and engaging mathematical learning that builds confidence and understanding in both school and real-life situations.
Our Mathematics program focuses on developing fluency, understanding, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Students learn through a balance of explicit instruction and hands-on investigations, applying their knowledge to explore and solve real-world problems.
Children are encouraged to think mathematically, explore multiple strategies, and share their reasoning and ideas with others. They work both independently and collaboratively, developing lifelong numeracy skills that empower them beyond the classroom.
We recognise the importance of strong foundational skills for future success. Our Key Numeracy Teacher oversees the Mathematics curriculum and coordinates support and extension programs that cater to a range of abilities. These programs focus on the explicit teaching of number concepts while helping students apply their skills confidently in problem-solving contexts.
