Visual Arts

As part of the Visual Arts program at Our Lady of Hope, the children view, respond to and create visual artworks. They learn how to communicate through the medium of art and have opportunities to use everyday materials in order to create their own pieces of artwork.

As children move into the Primary and Middle Years of school, they learn about the works and techniques of different artists. They are exposed to a wide range of materials for creating artistic works and are explicitly taught a range of different skills, processes and techniques in order to produce various forms of artwork.

As part of the Art program, the children also engage in learning about the artworks of our Indigenous Australians, as well as artwork from other cultures.
